70'S

The watches of the Philip Watch Cormoran collection, from an aesthetic point of view, are a typical expression of the fantasy of the 1970’s, a period characterized by a veritable explosion of creativity in which the most original models in the history of watchmaking were invented.

The mechanical movement has an automatic winding with a day-date function. The indications of the day of the week and the date, from the standpoint of concentricity, are well aligned and extremely closely spaced, a sign of high quality, making the case seem much more rectangular. The optical effects reveal a lot about the ability to design the aesthetics of a watch impeccably, lavishly and sumptuously. To note how all the corners are smoothed so as not to irritate the wrist, without however losing the “sense” of the rectangle. The Cormoran collection is something of a synthesis of that vein of “madness” of the 1970s.
